Integrating ENTSO-E Dynamic Pricing in Mervis

ENTSO-E Transparency Platform Web API Access Token Generation

While local market data from OTE covers the Czech Republic, facility managers and automation engineers managing multi-national portfolios need access to a wider European footprint. Starting with Mervis IDE version 2.7.22, our dedicated Watt Price driver provides robust, native integration with the pan-European ENTSO-E Transparency Platform.

Connecting to the ENTSO-E REST API

Querying day-ahead electricity prices outside of OTE requires communicating directly with ENTSO-E's public REST API (utilizing A44 document types). Setting this up requires a couple of straightforward steps:

  • Account Registration: Request free REST API access by registering on the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform and contacting support.
  • Token Generation: Once approved, log into your account settings to generate your secure Web API security token, which is securely passed via HTTP headers in Mervis.
  • Seamless Configuration: Simply point your Mervis Watt Price device to the ENTSO-E base URL, input your token and bidding zone EIC code (e.g., for Germany, Austria, or Poland), and let the driver handle the rest.

Advanced Schema Support and Reliability

Version 2.7.22 brings extensive architectural improvements for ENTSO-E data parsing:

  • Schema Compatibility: Full support for ENTSO-E Publication_MarketDocument schema versions 7.0 through 7.4.
  • Curve Type Flexibility: Native handling of both sequential fixed blocks (A01) and variable-sized blocks with carry-forward (A03).
  • Automatic DST Alignment: Continuous quarter-hour indexing (1 to 100) maps UTC-aligned market data cleanly into local time zones regardless of seasonal daylight saving changes.
